So Nitro blows himself up along with 600+ people and the ragtag team of b grade super heroes trying to stop him. One of them, Speedball, survives, and the public blames him for the disaster. Blame him for causing the disaster. He goes to jail. The public calls for superheroes to register themselves with the government. More accountability.
Got me thinking, what if, Nitro survived, together with Speedball. Would Speedball and his fallen comrades be counted as a heroes for trying to stop Nitro? With a living Nitro as the bad guy, it would be easy for the public to paint him as public enemy number one.
Back to the original story where only Speedball survives. Was he really in the wrong? Or is the public just looking for a scapegoat.
May be just a comic story, but I'm pretty sure it's in line with our culture we have in the real world.
