Thumbs of steel
Went inside a tank, and it's soo spacious. I wonder how fast someone can get from the outside to the driver seat without bumping his head or legs anywhere. 22 tons, that's 22 thousand kg. No wonder they had to put plywood beneath the tracks to prevent scratching the ground. Talked quite a lot to the guy manning the Light Howitzer. It takes 8 men to man that piece of artillery. It takes around 40 minutes to secure it to a Chinook for liftoff. They even have to tape the lights to prevent the glass from breaking due to difference in air pressure. The destructive radius of a single shell can reach up to one football field. It can move at a rate of 12 km/hr and weighs 5 tons plus. It can shoot up to 30 km away o.o.
I guess I have my dad's genes, I'm strangely attracted to military weapons and equipment.
Watched Night at the Museum 2 just now, kinda forcing myself to keep my head up. I found it boring. Maybe I was just that tired. And so far Rowell is the only one I haven't beat in thumb wrestling yet! Damn that guy is strong! Woke up to a terrible dream in the morning. I was about to be executed in front of my family and friends to set an example. Now the dream is kinda muddled, but I think it was my dad or something who was going to behead me. I wasn't panicky though, just sad. You can't imagine the relief I felt when I woke up.
What do you do... When you're inside the heart, think you're inside the heart, then realise that all there is, is the blood that rushes to your head.

Worked today for 7 hours! Woot! Money! Something I'm running oh so low on. Met this guy called Syazwan, kinda a nice guy I guess, but everybody's nice when you first meet them. I can't tell, but he's cool. Lucky plaza ain't so cool though. Lotsa penoi walking around, with the occasional blondes and brunettes. :)

Evolving from a little grasshopper
"With machines that are impressively more lifelike, and characters that are more and more like machines, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" takes the franchise to a vastly superior level of artificial intelligence. As for human intelligence, it's primarily at the service of an enhanced arsenal of special effects, which helmer Michael Bay deploys like a general launching his very own shock-and-awe campaign on the senses. Otherwise, little seems new compared to the first installment, except that this version is longer, louder, and perhaps "more than your eye can meet" in one sitting. It will reap similar B.O. rewards worldwide."--Variety
And Shuhui, see, nice right? "What's so nice about robots fighting each other -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-" lol.
Finally, I've finished the MC vs Elite pic which I have now renamed "In. Your. Face." Hard work man, hard work. but I'm glad it's done. http://spu7n1k.deviantart.com/art/In-Your-Face-127194466
Now for speedpaintings to increase my speed. What an informative sentence. Right. Just browsed through my old drawings and winced. http://spu7n1k.blogspot.com/2006/10/odst-lock-load.html I still remember thinking those were the awesome and top notch, thinking to myself "Would I ever be able to top this? I mean, it's already quite good." Now, 3 years later, I know I can. Can't believe I thought those were good! Well, 3 years from now I bet I'm gonna say the same thing about my current level.

Went for Jame's bbq today, not as many people from other classes as expected, quite a few of his other friends. Before that we went to TM to find a present, slacked awhile then headed for the chalet site at East Coast Park. Slacked there mainly, nothing much to do. Ate, walked a bit at the beach, dai de, slack, then went home. All the while careful not to cough too much. Sian, first it was cough, then ulcer, then this.

Went to eat at Subway, while constantly on the look out, but surprisingly, there wasn't really any we could find 0.0 Except for two xmm who were hogging the Bomberman arcade machine which San so wanted to play. Waited for them to get off, then San procceeded to own the machine. Impressive, most impressive. I wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes in there, but he seemed to know everything about the game. Too bad he died at the (i think) last boss. Kenny was playing Metal Slug, and I realised that they all know so much about all these arcade games compared to me. All because I was banned from entering arcades since young. Till now. But who cares, really, as long as I know my spending limits. And I didn't spend a single cent yesterday. Kenny 'sponsored' me to play one song from the Guitarhero machine at T1 though. Knights of Cydonia. And dammit man, those people who set up the arcade machines really know how to do their job. The strum tab required more force than a normal one, sucking out my energy faster than you could say "Bellamy". Finished the song in the end, good workout. lol.
Then proceeded to buy 4 bottles of beer (them, not me) and went to some block around there to lepak. I tried a little beer, and it still tastes the same like it did a few years back when I tried it at Bangkok. Bitter. Talked a bit, shared a bit, sang a bit, but no nonsense at all. Such good kids we were yesterday. Then we left at 10 and I passed my Spidey shirt to Alex for 'safekeeping'. See, my mom would scream at me if she were to find out I bought a 41 dollar shirt, and I couldn't make sure whether or not she would be in the living room when I got home. So come Monday, I will get back the shirt, put it in my bag, sneak it home, put it in the washing machine, and hopefully a few weeks later my mom will say "Where did you buy this? I've never seen you wear it before~" And I will say "Oh long time ago la"
The end.

Weird dreams again. Two, but I can now only remember one, where we were at this HUGE room, oh and we being the whole of MOI and strangely, my sis. She was sleeping in the middle section. The room was split into three sections, the left being KL/MH's class. Kangling and Yiting were the more recognisable faces in my dream. Then the middle was supposed to be my class, and it was strangely empty, maybe because some of them went to the right section, San/Eddy's class. Oh and Alfie was there on the right looking at his laptop. I said hi. The right section was rasied, which i guess attracted more people :/

Second, I dreamt that Halibel from bleach didn't die from that ice blast thing, but said she had to be hit 13 times by that attack to be killed. 13... Strange number~~
Now I'm in 2dlab, and I haven't started on my painting yet, waiting for Kenny to finish drawing to return me the pen. Just watched the pilot episode of "The Office", and I'm liking Steve Carrel! He's so awesome~ Just transferred quite a few episodes to my hard disk, not enough space to put in all...

Bamboo fun!
I can't wait to start spamming paintings on it, and no better time since holidays just started. I plan to use this two weeks wisely. BBQ tmr, gotta go Giant and find some steaks! So far my cough isn't really getting any better, and worse, I've got a huge ulcer on the lining of my mouth wall. Can't say I'm looking forward to BBQ tmr that much.

Blackout
Coughed so bad just now that I couldn't breathe properly, teary eyed I rushed to the water cooler. Even wondered if this is what death feels like. Overreacting probably, but hey, my brain wasn't functioning too good. Bertrand liked my videdit and our animatic, at least all that hard work didn't go to waste. Kinda surprised at his response to the animatic though. Still, I can't help but wonder why he didn't critique our work the way Amanda and Julian did. Modest Mouse is growing on me, and I'm not sick of "Missed the boat". Yet. I wonder why so many people's opinions about sg differ from mine :/ Time to bathe and take a nap, then to do my journal for Videdit.

I'm kinda disappointed in my drawing today, dunno what's wrong with me. Couldn't seem to get it right. The head. Get it right and everything else'll be good. Well thanks to San for buying me dinner, really appreciate that gesture :) Another day of STOPP, gotta sleep now, wake up early this time.

I like reading

Speed painting practice, Mouse
On another note, I've been reading about theories about the big bang, different dimensions, black holes and the existence of God. So far, everything points towards there being a God, or supernatural being who created the universe. I'm not gonna talk about specific religions, but rather, the whole God concept.
People thought the universe was static, unmoving. The theory was that if the universe is infinitely old and large, there would be an infinite number of chances for life to exist. Imagine throwing a dice with ten trillion sides infinite amount of times. Eventually you'll hit the side called "Life". Now we know it is expanding, planets are moving further apart. It is not static. What does that mean? Simply, that the universe was once clumped together. Hence, the big bang theory. Plus many other evidence, one of them being the left over radiation detected everywhere in our galaxy, confirming a huge explosion. But that's too scientific for me to explain.
So. What does the Big bang mean? It means that once the universe was never here. Thus it had to be created. The big bang was its cause, but who created the big bang? Agent X. Who's Agent X? I believe it's God. But then, since we went so far back to the beginning of he universe, let's ask: Who created God? When did he/it come into being? The answer is simple. He was always there. If he created the universe, he created the laws of the universe. Time. It never existed before the universe was created. That means he created time, long with all the other physics equations and whatnots. So a God which created time is not confined to time. He doesn't need to have a beginning. Not that hard to grasp eh?
"Both John Chapter One and Colossians Chapter One make that claim about God; He has no beginning, no end and He is not created. The Bible is the only Holy book that makes that statement about God." But let's not go into religion, back on topic.
Let's talk about somemore reasons why I believe God created us.
Electromagnetism- Unless the force electromagnetism takes on a particular value, molecules won't happen. Take the nucleus of an atom. There's an electron orbiting it. If the force electromagnetism is too weak, the electron will not orbit the nucleus. No electrons orbiting nucleus= No molecules= No life.
Strong Nuclear force- Protons and neutrons are held together in the nucleus of an atom by the strong nuclear force, which is the strongest of the four forces of physics.
If the nuclear force is too strong, the protons and neutrons in the universe will find themselves stuck to other protons and neutrons, which means we have a universe devoid of Hydrogen. No Hydrogen= No life.
On the other hand, if the nuclear force is too weak, all we will have is Hydrogen. Life can't exist with only hydrogen. 0.03 stonger, no life. 0.06 weaker, no life.
Gravity- It is necessary for the universe to be electrically neutral. The numbers of the positively charged particles must be equivalent to the numbers of negatively charged particles or else electromagnetism will dominate gravity, and stars, galaxies and planets will never form. If they don't form, then clearly life is impossible.
The numbers of electrons must equal the numbers of protons to better than one part of 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (10 to the 37 th power). That is one chance in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (10 to the 37 th power). To say all that happened by chance is kinda ridiculous.
I'm just gonna copy paste this whole chunk here coz I don't think it needs me to paraphrase it.
"The right star is needed. We can't have a star any bigger than our Sun. The bigger the star, the more rapidly and erratically it burns its fuel. Our Sun is just small enough to keep a stable enough flame for a sufficient period of time to make life possible. If it were any bigger, we couldn't have life on planet Earth. If it were any smaller, we'd be in trouble, too.
Smaller stars are even more stable than our star, the Sun, but they don't burn as hot. In order to keep our planet at the right temperature necessary to sustain life, we'd have to bring the planet closer to the star.
Tidal Forces
The physicists in the audience realize that when you bring a planet closer to its star, the tidal interaction between the star and the planet goes up to the inverse fourth power to the distance separating them. For those of you who are not physicists, that means that all you have to do is bring that planet ever so much closer to the star, and the tidal forces could be strong enough to break the rotational period.
That's what happened to Mercury and Venus. Those planets are too close to the Sun; so close that their rotational periods have been broken, from several hours to several months.
Earth is just barely far enough away to avoid that breaking. We have a rotation period of once every 24 hours. If we wait much longer, it will be every 26 or 28 hours, because the Earth's rotation rate is slowing down.
Going back in history, we can measure the time when the Earth was rotating every 20 hours. When the Earth was rotating once every 20 hours, human life was not possible. If it rotates once every 28 hours, human life will not be possible. It can only happen at 24 hours.
Speed of Earth's Rotation
If the planet rotates too quickly, you get too many tornadoes and hurricanes. If it rotates too slowly, it gets too cold at night and too hot during the day. We don't want it to be 170 degrees during the day, nor do we want it to be below –100 at night, because that's not ideal for life.
We don't want lots of hurricanes and tornadoes, either. What we currently have is an ideal situation, and God plays this. He created us here at the ideal time.
We need the right Earth. If the Earth is too massive, it retains a bunch of gases such as Ammonia, Methane, Hydrogen and Helium in its atmosphere. These gases are not acceptable for life, at least, not for advanced life. But if it's not massive enough, it won't retain water. For life to exist on planet Earth, we need a huge amount of water, but we don't need a lot of ammonia and methane.
Remember high school chemistry? Methane's molecular weight 16, ammonia's molecular weight 17, water's molecular weight is 18. God so designed planet Earth that we keep lots of the 18, but we don't keep any of the 16 or the 17. The incredible fine-tuning of the physical characteristics of Earth is necessary for that.
Jupiter Necessary, too
We even have to have the right Jupiter. We wrote about this in our Facts and Faith newsletter a few issues back, but it was also discovered by American astrophysicists just this past year. Unless you have a very massive planet like Jupiter, five times more distant from the star than the planet that has life, life will not exist on that planet.
It takes a super massive planet like Jupiter, located where it is, to act as a shield, guarding the Earth from comic collisions. We don't want a comet colliding with Earth every week. Thanks to Jupiter, that doesn't happen.
What these astrophysicists discovered in their models of planetary formation was that it's a very rare star system indeed that produces a planet as massive as Jupiter, in the right location, to act as such a shield.
We Even Need the Right Moon
The Earth's moon system is that of a small planet being orbited by a huge, single moon. That huge, single moon has the effect of stabilizing the rotation axis of planet Earth to 23½ degrees. That's the ideal tilt for life on planet Earth.
The axis on planet Mars moves through a tilt from zero to 60 degrees and flips back and forth. If that were to happen on Earth, life would be impossible. Thanks to the Moon, it's held stable at 23 ½ degrees.
Just as with the universe, in the case of the solar system, we can attach numbers to these. In this case, I've chosen to be extremely conservative in my estimates. I would feel justified in sticking a few zeros between the decimal point and the one. I would feel justified in making this 20 percent, 10 percent, for example, and on down the line.
We Even Need the Right Number of Earthquakes
I've got so many characteristics here, and I let the Californians know that you have to have the right number of earthquakes. Not too many, not too few, or life is not possible. I share them with my wife, who doesn't like earthquakes, but I just tell her that when you feel a good jolt, that's when you have to thank God for his perfect providence."
All this has been taken from http://www.cosmicfingerprints.com/audio/newevidence.htm
Check it out if you've got the time.
And yes, this might be my longest post yet.

Too much awesome, too much!
(Full screen the trailers, stupid blogger doesn't seem to like embeds)
-Splinter Cell: Conviction
I've been waiting so long, too long for this game to come out. After Double Agent, we were told of a new game, Conviction, that was coming out. But after 3 years, it fell off the face of the world. Or the gamer's world, at least. Then came the little teaser trailers, and finally this! The gameplay's A LOT faster, the camera angles are sweet, and the graphics look top notch. Looks like the 3 years they spent keeping it from us were spent good.
-Modern Warfare 2
Modern Warfare 1 was the very first Call of duty games I owned, and I've had no regrets playing it. Now comes Moern warfare TWO! Two mothertooots! That means more guns, explosions, guns and jaw dropping levels. Did I mention guns?
-Starwars: The Old Republic
Ok I don't really use the word fuck, but in the context of what other people mean when they say this word, FUCK YEAH! I was pulled on board the hype train when they revealed this new RPG coming out earlier this year, but word was that this game is so immense, so the chances of it being released this year are slim. Those little tidbits that Lucasarts revealed every Friday slowly builded up and aroused interest, but it was still not enough. Tidbits about new worlds, location, character classes etc, but nothing that really got me out of my seat. Except for this trailer. The sweetest lookin trailer out there now. Even though it's pre-rendered and all (that means not actual gameplay footage for teh noobs out there), it still deserves the "FUCK YEAH" response. Ok enough talk, now for the video itself.
-And let's not forget about Left For Dead 2
I never really got to play much of L4D, but it seemed like a cool game. It was even cooler when played with friends, and I only did that once at a lanshop. The trailer seems pretty cool, but what's up with the 2 Black dudes, 1 black chick and 1 white guy? Not that I have a problem with African Americans, but a game like this must always have at least one white chick. Always, fullstop.
-The trailer for Assassin's Creed 2 was pretty meh.. Another nice looking game, but if it's like the first game, I wouldn't bother with it.
-And finally, PROJECT NATAL
"There are those who said this day would never come. What are they to say now?"-- Halo 2 reference.
THE biggest surprise of the whole E3 event, Microsoft's new toy, Natal. This is the Wii killer. The Wii-ner. Geddit? Nevermind. I bet it's still ways before the finished product, but this thing is lookin good. Lookin very good. Full body motion capture? Even mapping the living room? Depth of field? I never thought I'd see this day.
My only question: How much is this baby gonna cost?
-The final icing on the cake, HALO 3: ODST
With all the new games being announced, an expansion didn't really blow me off my feet, but it's still sweet, can't wait to get the game. I just wish it isn't so motherfriggin expensive considering it's an expansion pack.
