Then went to a food farm. More like vegetable and fruit farm. Ate lunch there. It sucked. Walked amongst the vegetation and stale, humid air. Rambutan, durian, jackfruit trees. Blah blah blah. Walked around on our own with cousins. Experienced tour guide leading us. Went to the 'animal' farm. Which was really an enclousure with some monkeys and rabbits chained to a stand. And some goats. Well at least there was this fail part where this dude waved a stack of notes in front of a monkey. And the monkey grabbed it. And he tried to take it back, which was a stupid move. And the monkey took a bite out of the notes. 50 ringgit notes, mind you. It was hilarious. Eventually it dropped the stash and the dude got it back. Torn.
Proceeded to this talk about bees, which was really a way to get you to buy the nutritious honey that can be smeared on your face and eaten. Mmm. -.- Then dinner. Which too, sucked. Oyster omelette. Eww. Crayfish was not bad. One weird thing though was that I ate prawns, crayfish, oyster egg and crab. Considering that I don't fancy seafood, that was really something. But whatever, we got to play 'catch the fly with your chopsticks to win points' game. Oh and we tried cracking the crab's shell with our chopsticks. We failed.
Ahh, the interesting part. Fireflies. Got into an old wooden boat, travelled a little out into this river. Like the ones you see in whats that show--Anaconda. Yes. Trees on either side, but coz it was kinda dark, all you could really see were the sillouhettes. Then we saw them flies. Lepaking near the river edge on the trees, they flicked on and off, lighting up like christmas lights. The lights aren't that bright till they light up the whole tree, but they were sharp enough, imagine stars. The boat driver then moved us to one of the tree sticking out, and the flies came in! Rushed to the front, caught a few, a few escaped. It was really cool, trying to catch these small flickering lights. Finally caught one, showed it to Susan, who then showed it to mum. The firefly then somehow crawled into mum's sleeve and burrowed itself in there. Imagine a flickering greenish yellow light shining through a white sleeve. Awesome. Bagged it and brought it back here.
And now I've still gotta finish up the banner.
